Quingo Flyte Wins Top International Innovation Award

The Quingo Flyte, AVC’s recently launched, self-loading, portable mobility scooter has just won the best innovation award at the REVA EXPO held in Ghent, Belgium.

The exhibition runs from 23-25 April 2015 and showcases the very latest developments and innovation for the elderly and disabled.

The REVAnueva Award is a contest for the most innovative product or service for the sector and this after being nominated, the Quingo Flyte, we are very please to say, has beome the Expo’s outright winner.

More than 150 exhibitors are a participating at this years REVA and has 15,000 visitors viewing the latest products and services from young to old, from people with a limited disability to those with more profound impairments.

The Quingo Flyte is just one of a range of 5 wheel scooters that offer customers enhanced stability, unequalled agility and full ergonomic posture control that provides improved comfort even on longer journeys.

The Quingo team are proud to announce that we will be sponsoring the Best Limited Mobility/Accessible Travel Provider category at the first annual Silver Travel Awards ceremony. 

The Silver Travel Awards 

The event will be launched by Silver Travel Advisor, a website run by travel industry professionals which targets the mature travel market. 

The website is a free resource where members can contribute to impartial news, travel advice and tips, all written exclusively by and for mature travellers. 

Jennie Bond, the BBC’s former Royal Correspondent will host the event which takes place on 4th June 2015 at London’s Natural History Museum. 

A ‘best of the best’ award will be judged by a panel of mature celebrities and senior figures from the travel industry, who will consider the best entries in each of the categories before selecting an overall winner. 

How do I vote? 

Voting for the Awards opened in January and will close on 31st March. To place a vote you can visit the Silver Travel Advisor website and click ‘Vote Now’. 

Voters will be asked to fill in an online form and can vote in one, several or all categories. Votes will be counted in April resulting in a shortlist for each category. The winner for each award will be chosen at the event on 4th June. 

Some of the companies voted for so far in the Quingo-sponsored category include Wings on Wheels, Qantas Airlines, Gatwick Airport, Warners and CMV.

The Stig tests Quingo to its limits!

The Mobility Roadshow is now over for another year and in their 30th year, what an event it was! The event once again provided a one-stop shop with a wide range of advice and products for those with restricted mobility and their carers. 

Thanks for everyone who came along to the Quingo/Age UK stand and especially those who participated in our ‘Blue Diamond Driver Safety Campaign’. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as the Quingo team did! 

The event has once again been heralded a huge success by visitors and exhibitors alike. This year was Quingo’s most successful show to date, and with Telford proving such a popular location even The Stig was in attendance showing off some of his driving and manoeuvring skills! 

Like so many attendees, The Stig sat his ‘Blue Diamond Driver Check’ –and perhaps not surprisingly passed with flying colours! He can now proudly display his ‘Blue Diamond’ badge on his scooter to prove that he meets the required driving standard. 

The ‘Blue Diamond Driver Check’ is part of the new joint National Scooter Safety Campaign which provides a safety and capability assessment and is free with every test drive of any of the Quingo range. This is part of the new working relationship between Quingo and Age UK to promote safer, more comfortable and confident scooter driving. 

The team showcased the full range of Quingo products and services, imparted valuable advice and tips along with providing test drives and other hands on experiences to aid anyone looking to purchase a mobility scooter. 

 It was very rewarding to see so many scooter users being able to test drive Quingo and experience all the unique 5 wheel features. We know from our customer feedback that this is by far the best way to appreciate the Quingo’s amazing stability, agility and comfort advantages.

It’s nearly time for the Mobility Roadshow once again, where we will be revealing some very big news about the future of Quingo and launching an exciting new initiative.

This year’s event will be taking place at the Telford International Centre from 27th-29th June and we are delighted to announce that the Quingo team we will be in attendance throughout all three days and we’ll be showcasing our full range of scooters.

The UK's original hands-on consumer event turns 30 this year! It has been showcasing mobility innovation for three great decades and proves year and year again to be an inspirational, informative and interactive experience.

Rehacare is a respected and widely recognized international trade fair. It is hosted in Germany, where it has been established for over 30 years. 750 national and international exhibitors are brought together from all across the world to present, discuss and share information regarding rehabilitation, prevention, integration and care for the elderly, disabled and anyone with care requirements or chronic conditions.

Office star, Julie Fernandez visits Quingo at the Mobility Roadshow

Mark Nicholls talks through the New Quingo 5 Wheel Scooter range with Julie Fernandez who amongst other things starred in Ricky Gervaise's hit comedy 'The Office'.  

Julie officially declared the 3 day event at the Peterborough Arena, East of England Showground open yesterday.

As a campaigner, Julie has called for improved design and technological investment in products that enable people with disabilities - as well as those who become less able with advancing years – to remain independently mobile for as long as possible.

She said: “Anyone like me who needs help to be more mobile will find something at this event that can make a difference to their lives."

The Mobility Roadshow runs until Saturday, June 23 2012 and is the UK’s original and largest consumer mobility and independent living event.

Motability ‘One Big Day’ Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire

On Friday 8 and Saturday 9 June 2012, Quingo Mobility Scooters attended the Motability ‘One Big Day’ exhibition at Stoneleigh Park. 

Attendees got first sight of the latest Quingo range, which now includes the all-new Quingo Toura and the new car-transportable Quingo Compact. This is now the biggest Motability event in the year. Unlike other ‘One Big Day’ events, the exhibition is all indoors and has the largest number of cars, adapted vehicles, wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs), scooters and powered wheelchairs of all their events.

Quingos Dutch distributor Vijfde Wiel are currently exhibiting at the Dutch National Exhibition 'Support at Utrecht'. The show is on from the 9th to 12th May 2012.

This event is a hands-on consumer event, showcasing Dutch mobility innovation. Any visitors to the exhibition are welcome to join us on the stand.

New Zealanders get their first glimpse of the Quingo range at 'The Big Event'

Quingo New Zealand attended their first exhibition ‘The Big Event’, a health and disability expo which provided opportunities for providers to meet with more than 6000 end users. The Expo hosted over 100 stands and ran over the 9th and 10th March 2012 at the ASB Show grounds in Greenlane, Auckland.

This was the first official event for the Quingo range in the southern hemisphere and the first time potential users had the chance to learn of Quingos’ unique 5 wheel feature set. “We received great feedback regarding our product and the point of difference it offered as the World’s first 5 wheel mobility scooter.” explained Mark Wilkie. “A great start to building awareness here in NZ and something we would certainly like to be involved with again in the future. Well done to the organisers!”

‘The Big Event NZ’ has added to the growing number of international events that Quingo customers are able to enjoy. The UK Quingo Team will be showing all the latest developments across the range in Peterborough on 21-23 June 2012 and European visitors will get the chance to meet the team in Dusseldorf for REHACARE 2012 taking place on 10-13 October.

REHACARE 2011 Düsseldorf: A great success for Quingo and AVC

This years REHACARE which took place on 21-24 September in Düsseldorf attracted over 47,000 international trade visitors and affected individuals to seek out the latest product and technology provided by 747 exhibitors from 29 countries.

The show coincided with the launch of several new products for Quingo and the perfect opportunity for AVC to expand their international operations.

The All New Quingo Toura and Quingo Vitess were among the product showcased in Germany and these new 5 wheel scooters with their latest take on the 5 wheel phenomenon attracted great interest both with end users and international distributors attending the show.

The show spans 4 days and is the most important trade fair worldwide for rehabilitation, prevention, integration and care. For over 30 years it has created an ideal platform and meeting point for communication between market leaders in the industry, innovative newcomers in the field of products and services, as well as for social organisations, self-help groups and non-commercial institutions.

Our best UK exhibition ever!

Once again the Mobility Roadshow has been heralded a huge success by visitors and exhibitors alike and was Quingo's most successful show to date held in the UK. Staged at the East of England Showground, Peterborough for the second consecutive year, there is no doubt that this venue has proved popular.

Mark Nicholls, Managing Director, Forever Active, agreed: “The Mobility Roadshow is the show to be at.”

Quingo launched the all-new Quingo Vitess at the show which was received fantastically well and along with the other models in the range proved hugely popular.

We were also extremely pleased to present Kate Davies with her Guinness World Record Certificate for the 24 hour Challenge that she, Jackie Weeden and the Red Wheelies team completed last month in Kent. They also performed at the show to the large crowd outside the main hall.

This year’s Mobility Roadshow opened with a wealth of product innovation as well as classic mobility solutions for visitors to try out and compare from over 170 exhibitors.

VIP guest on the first day was Private Derek Derenalagi, one of the British soldiers who provided inspiration for the birth of the charity Help for Heroes. Derek lost both his legs in action and now with his bionic legs, is aiming for a place in the GB Paralympics squad. Adding a touch of military ‘glamour’ was the Minden Band of The Queen's Regiment, resplendent in full ceremonial uniform.
